Coronavirus Update and Dr. Bill Sands New Interview
Hey everyone! First off, I hope you are safe and healthy amongst this COVID-19 chaos. We are in very hard times. Most if not all gyms will be closed in the next month, and USAG just announced that the rest of the competitive season has been canceled due to the risk of virus spread. I feel for everyone, and I’m in the same spot as you worried about the girls on our team, my friends, family, and my own life.
During this hard time, I am committed to help the gymnastics community in any way that I can. If you didn’t see it, I released a Free 6 Day Home Program for Gymnasts during the coronavirus (Click HERE to download). I am also doing a free lecture on Recovery on the Gotham Gymnastics Live Instagram page today at 3 pm US EST if you want to listen. In the coming weeks, I will be offering many more free lectures, live Q&A, and whatever else I can do help. If there is something you think might be helpful, feel free to reach out to me via email or message!
As for today, I wanted to share a podcast that highlights some things I’m working on in light of the coronavirus. I also wanted to share a phenomenal podcast that I recorded last week with Dr. Bill Sands. Dr. Sands is one of the most legendary experts and researchers in the gymnastics community. In this conversation we discuss,
- How spring floors and Achilles tears are connected
- What factors go into Achilles tendon injuries
- If Dr. Sands thinks gymnasts should lift weights
- Dr. Sand’s science-based recommendations for recovery
- How to monitor gymnasts for health and performance
- Dr. Sand’s thoughts on the Nassar scandal, USAG, education, and more
