Advice to Parents and Gymnasts During COVID19 – 5 Key Focuses When Stuck At Home
As always, I want to start by saying I hope that you are safe, healthy, and doing well during COVID19!
Along with questions from gymnastics coaches, I have been getting a ton of questions from parents and gymnasts concerned about how to maintain skills, had to stay strong, and how to reduce the risk of injury when we get back to gymnastics training.
I was very fortunate to be asked to join a private zoom session with a large group of gymnasts and their parents.
I quickly went over five things that I think gymnasts need to be doing at home to maximize their potential to stay safe. They included good mental states, general strength, cardio, flexibility work, and joint health. I gave specific examples of the programs I’m building for people and advice I’m offering.
From there, I answered a ton of great questions ranging from reducing the risk of injuries, managing current injuries, keeping flexibility, maintaining motivation, and ways to try and not lose skills.
I think there is lots of great info in here! You can listen by clicking below. I hope it helps!
